Picnic and MissiOlympics

It's time again to prove to the rest of the Church the overwhelming superiority your gospel community! Each GC will assemble a team of at least 3 participants to compete in a series of events: Varying from athletic to creative to downright silly! Whichever GC wins the most events will receive the prestigious and coveted GOLDEN BABY. Don’t have a GC? No problem. We will create a RefuGC! Meet us at Waveland Park on the lakefront for a picnic lunch at Noon and we will begin Opening Ceremonies at 1pm.

For the picnic you don't need to participate in MissiOlympics to join us for lunch, BUT you do need to sign up for lunch HERE and bring your own picnic blanket or lawn chairs!!

When: Sunday, August 20th, 12p Lunch; 1p Opening Ceremonies
Where: Waveland Park (Lakefront)

MD Justice Team visiting Impact Life Church in Calumet Heights

To lead members of the Missio Dei Wrigleyville family out of our neighborhood and daily routines to worship alongside brothers and sisters in a Christ in parts of our city we might not normally encounter. To support and encourage Christian brothers and sisters working to bring about the Kingdom of God, in Chicago as it is in Heaven, who live and work in areas geographically and socially separated from Wrigleyville. To promote reconciliation, understanding and unity across the Body of Christ in Chicago.

For the past two years, the Justice Team has led MD WG family out of Wrigleyville to a church in another part of the city to worship with brothers and sisters there. This year we continue that tradition by visiting Impact Life Church to worship with Duane and Sauda Porter and their congregation that meet in Calumet Heights, not far from Chicago State University and the south end of the Red Line. Duane and Sauda are good friends of MDWG, and we look forward to uniting or families for one day to celebrate the Kingdom.

If you need a ride, let Tina know and she will help coordinate. We will leave Missio around 11:45am.

When: August 27, 2017. Service starts at 12:30pm
Where: Chicago Vocational High School, 2100 E 87th St, Chicago

As part of our "You Are Loved" events, we are partnering with Blaine Elementary to provide backpacks for all of the children in our local shelters. The kids from the shelters often arrive to the first day empty-handed. Blaine is raising funds for supplies, and we have the privilege of providing the backpacks!

When: Backpacks due by August 27
Where: Please sign up in the foyer!

As we look around Chicago, and around our multiple congregations, we long to equip our church family not only to be on mission together, but also to THRIVE in the city. To that end, we invite you to an Evening of Pursuit, where our very own “Beloved” will be leading us to pursue of the power and presence of the SPIRIT in our midst. We long to seek HIM together, and we are simply creating a space for prayer, worship and seeking together as part of the broader Missio Dei family. Contact below with questions - no RSVP required!

When: Wednesday August 30, 6:30 pm
Where: NEW LOCATION 1040 W Huron St 60642

This is a time to come together with the men and women of MD Wrigleyville to spend time with God. If you are someone who would like to spend time with God but you are not really sure what that would look like, this time is for you as a learner. Or, if you are already comfortable spending time with God but could benefit from having a time scheduled and set apart to do so, then this time is for you also. Bring a bible, pen and journal if you have one!
